Sussex caravan centre is a family run, multi-award-winning caravan and motorhome dealership trading for over 35 years, based in Ashington, West Sussex. The company is a national caravan council and AWS approved dealership and workshop selling new and used caravans and motorhomes.
As a result of our success, we are looking to expand our workshop team and add an experienced caravan and motorhome damp repair specialist to strengthen our busy workshop operation and growing business to meet the rising demand of our large customer database. As a repair specialist you will be expected to identify and repair the water ingress points, fitting new plastic/GRP panels, bodywork repairs to plastic/GRP panels, carry out major repairs and rebuilds to floors, ceilings, and walls, which will often involve extensive stripping down inside vehicles, replacement of timberwork, wallboard and wallpapering and rebuilding inside. You may also be required to complete some pre delivery inspections and caravan servicing and repair work as required as part of the role.
Successful candidates will have superb attention to detail, will have a tidy, organised mentality and will be physically fit, reliable, and hardworking, have a positive attitude, able to work as part of our friendly team and can use their own initiative whilst taking immense pride in their work.
The role would suit a practical person who is naturally gifted with their hands and talented with most DIY projects. Experience in carpentry and the use of sealants would be very beneficial. Previous experience in van conversions, coachworks, boat building or other similar industries would be advantageous.
The ideal applicant will have experience working within the caravan and motorhome industry and previous experience of carrying out damp repairs. It would also be advantageous to hold some of the following qualifications:
NCC Caravan Service Engineering Award
NCC Electrical Test & Inspection
Electrical Extra Low Voltage, Systems & Circuits
STGW gas training for service technicians and manufacturers
AL-KO chassis training
Caravan manufacturer training
However, all Applicants with the correct attitude and skillsets will be considered as training could be provided to someone talented with their hands who takes pride in their work.
This is a full time, permanent position, with a 5-day week working Monday - Friday with Saturdays on rolling rota.
