About the role

Cwm Taf Care and Repair provides support and advice for older and/or disabled homeowners or private renters, to help them live in their own homes with greater independence, warmth, security and safety.



We are looking for three new Board Members who will wholeheartedly buy into our values and make sure that we are delivering against our corporate plan effectively and sustainably. If you want to make a difference to the communities in which we work and can work as part of a team to help set the strategic direction for the organisation, then joining our Board could be the perfect opportunity for you.



We are looking for Board Members to lead and work with the Cwm Taf Care & Repair Board in setting the strategic vision and direction of the organisation, in line with Welsh Government requirements and the Agency values and objectives, through good governance and effective strategic planning.



Board members are expected to maintain good relationships with other members of the Board, the Chief Officer and other key members of staff and with external stakeholders, particularly clients, key partners, and any other related statutory agencies.

Term of office:

3-year term (which can be repeated up to a maximum of 9 years)

Remuneration:

Voluntary. Reasonable expenses will be paid.

Place of work:

Board meetings are generally held in person at our head office:

Unit 4, Navigation Park, Abercynon, CF454SN.

Training and development sessions will be held through the year online or at other locally based locations.

Time commitment:

4 x Board meetings (approximately two hours per meeting) plus a strategic session to review our Corporate Plan.

Dependent on your skills and experience, Board members are expected to join and contribute to a maximum of two strategy and development sessions per year. Board appraisals take place annually with the Chair. Care & Repair Board meetings are currently held on Tuesdays between 10.00am & 12.00pm. Meetings dates are set a year in advance.
