Position Summary
We are looking for a skilled, patient-focused MRI Radiographer to join our dynamic medical imaging team. You'll operate advanced MRI scanners, deliver exceptional patient care, and play a vital role in supporting accurate diagnosis and personalised treatment planning.
Key Responsibilities
Operate advanced MRI systems to produce high-quality diagnostic images following leading clinical protocols.
Prepare, assist, and position patients with empathy, ensuring a calm, safe, and reassuring experience.
Confirm identity and clinical information with precision to ensure safe and accurate examinations.
Administer contrast agents when needed, adhering to strict safety and clinical guidelines.
Monitor and support patients throughout the scan, using communication skills to keep them relaxed and still.
Maintain accurate, detailed patient records and required documentation.
Perform proactive quality control checks, ensuring equipment is functioning at peak performance.
Uphold MRI safety standards, particularly regarding the magnetic environment.
Work collaboratively with radiologists, clinicians, and a multidisciplinary team to achieve outstanding patient outcomes.
Maintain a safe, organised, and hygienic work area in line with infection control policies.
RequirementsEssential
Degree or diploma in Radiography or Medical Imaging
HCPC registration (UK)
Postgraduate MRI certification or equivalent training
Demonstrated experience with MRI equipment (1.5T and/or 3T preferred)
Strong knowledge of MRI physics, anatomy, and imaging protocols
Excellent communication, empathy, and teamwork skills
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced clinical environment
Flexibility to participate in rotational shifts, including occasional evenings and weekends
Desirable
Experience with multiple MRI platforms (e.g., Siemens, GE, Philips)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Familiarity with RIS/PACS systems
