Job Title: Home Delivery Van Driver

Reports to: Transport Manager

Location: Various (UK mainland)

Employment Type: 0 hour contract

Role Purpose

To safely, efficiently, and professionally deliver goods to customers' homes while providing excellent customer service and maintaining company standards.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver customer orders accurately and on time using a company van. Load and unload goods safely, ensuring items are handled with care. Follow scheduled routes and adapt to traffic or delivery changes as required. Provide excellent customer service at the doorstep, including friendly communication and resolving minor delivery issues. Complete delivery documentation using handheld devices or paperwork. Carry out vehicle checks before and after each shift (fuel, tyres, lights, cleanliness). Always follow health & safety procedures. Report incidents, delays, or vehicle defects promptly to the Transport Manager. Maintain cleanliness of the van and ensure company branding is respected.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

Full UK driving licence (Category B). No more 6 points (No DD/DR/DG/TT/IN) Experience driving vans or similar vehicles (desirable but not always required). Good geographical road network knowledge Strong customer service and communication skills. Ability to lift and move parcels / large items safely. Good time-management and ability to work independently. Basic IT skills for using delivery scanners or mobile devices.

Working Conditions

Start times between 4am - 7am Outdoor work in varying weather conditions. Manual handling required (lifting, carrying, loading). Driving for extended periods.

Performance Indicators

Delivery accuracy and timeliness. Customer feedback and satisfaction scores. Vehicle condition and compliance with safety checks. Adherence to route plans and operational procedures.
Pay: 12.21-13.00 per hour

Expected hours: No more than 70 per week
