Multi Drop Van Delivery Driver required for a position based in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire

Our client regards their staff as a pivotal part of their achievements and are now hiring for a van driver to add value to the business on a full time permanent basis.
Perform all duties with due and constant regard for the Health and Safety of yourself, other employees, and those with whom your duties involve contact, including customers and other road users.
Deliver the company's products as scheduled by the transport planner to customer premises within a maximum of 45-mile radius of the Peterborough site, ensuring all customer requirements and deadlines are met. Discharge products in accordance with the instruction on the delivery ticket or as advised by the customer; due to the industry our client supplies to, often you will have keys to the customer premises to deliver whilst the customer premises is closed.
Complete daily vehicle checks for defects prior to taking the vehicle on the road to ensure it is in a roadworthy and legal condition - you must notify the transport team promptly of any faults disclosed by inspections which are considered to merit immediate attention. All details of defects must be entered into the vehicle defect log; this is for your safety, the team's safety, and the safety of other road users.
Deliveries will be situated within 45-mile radius of the depot in Peterborough, you will be delivering to restaurants and fast-food outlets. The role does involve manual handling, loading, and unloading etc. You will be given a helper on your journey who will help you unload and deliver to customers. There will be some aspects of payment collection in the role, where you will be collecting either cash or cheques from customers to pass onto the team back at the office.
You will become familiar with each route as you will complete the same route frequently, for example you will do the chosen route on a Monday and the same route the following Monday again; you will form a familiarity of your planned routes.
