Job Description

Purpose of the Role



The Multi-Site Warehouse Operations Manager will lead and oversee the efficient running of multiple warehouse operations across designated sites in Northern Ireland. This role ensures that all warehousing activities from goods inwards to order fulfilment are delivered to the highest standards of productivity, accuracy, compliance, and customer satisfaction.

The successful candidate will drive operational excellence, standardise processes, optimise resource use, and develop teams to meet business objectives while ensuring full compliance with health & safety and industry regulations.

Key Responsibilities



Operational Leadership



Oversee day-to-day operations across multiple warehouse sites, ensuring efficiency, cost control, and service excellence. Develop and implement consistent SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) across all sites. Manage inbound, storage, inventory control, and outbound distribution activities. Monitor KPIs and performance metrics for each site, identifying and addressing any variances. Lead and coordinate cross-site projects to improve operational efficiency and capacity.

People Management



Lead, motivate, and develop Warehouse Managers, Supervisors, and operational teams across all locations. Conduct regular site visits to provide hands-on leadership, coaching, and performance reviews. Ensure staffing levels meet business demand while maintaining cost effectiveness. Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Strategic Planning & Improvement



Collaborate with senior management on capacity planning, resource allocation, and site expansion. Implement continuous improvement initiatives (LEAN, 5S, Kaizen) to enhance productivity and reduce costs. Support technology upgrades (WMS, automation) to streamline operations.

Compliance & Safety



Ensure all sites meet Health & Safety, environmental, and regulatory compliance requirements. Oversee training for safe working practices and maintain high housekeeping standards. Conduct audits and risk assessments, implementing corrective actions where required.

Financial Accountability



Manage site operational budgets, monitoring expenditure and ensuring cost efficiency. Analyse operational costs, identify savings opportunities, and support commercial negotiations with suppliers.

Key Skills & Competencies



Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing multiple sites. Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities. Analytical and data-driven approach to problem solving. Solid understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and modern logistics technologies. Ability to influence and drive change in complex operational environments. Commitment to Health & Safety and compliance excellence.

Qualifications & Experience



Minimum 5 years' experience in warehouse/operations management, with at least 2 years in a multi-site leadership role. Strong track record in process improvement, cost control, and operational delivery. Experience in FMCG, retail distribution, e-commerce, or manufacturing logistics preferred. Knowledge of LEAN / Six Sigma methodologies (desirable). Full UK driving licence (essential).

Performance Indicators



Achievement of on-time, in-full (OTIF) delivery targets across all sites. Reduction in operational costs without compromising service levels. Improvement in productivity metrics year-on-year. Compliance audit scores meeting or exceeding company standards. Positive employee engagement and retention rates.
