We are seeking a skilled Multi-Skilled Builder / Bricklayer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the construction industry and be proficient in bricklaying techniques. This role involves constructing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of brick, stone, and other materials. The canditate will work on various projects, including residential and commercial buildings, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.
Duties
Lay bricks, blocks, and stones according to specifications and blueprints.
Mix mortar and other materials as needed for construction projects.
Install window lintels, cavity trays, brick replacement etc.
Use power tools and hand tools effectively to cut, shape, and finish materials.
Construct walls, arches, and other structures using masonry techniques.
Repair existing masonry structures by replacing damaged bricks or stones.
Collaborate with other tradespeople, including carpenters and welders, to complete projects efficiently.
Ensure all work complies with building codes and safety regulations.
Maintain a clean and organised work environment at all times.
Qualifications
Proven experience in bricklaying or masonry work is essential.
Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools relevant to the trade.
Knowledge of building techniques is advantageous.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Strong attention to detail with a commitment to quality craftsmanship.
Physical stamina and strength to perform manual tasks for extended periods.
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
