We are seeking a skilled Brick Mason to join our team on either a full time or part time contract. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in masonry and bricklaying, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality craftsmanship. As a Brick Mason, you will be responsible for constructing and repairing structures using bricks, concrete blocks, and other materials.
Responsibilities
Lay bricks, concrete blocks, and other masonry materials according to Architectural plans.
Construct walls, arches, and other structures with precision and skill.
Mix mortar and other bonding agents to ensure proper adhesion of bricks.
Use power tools and hand tools effectively for cutting, shaping, and finishing masonry materials.
Repair existing brickwork by replacing damaged bricks or repointing joints.
Collaborate with other construction professionals.
Willingness to support and train apprentices.
Maintain a clean and safe work environment by following health and safety regulations.
Inspect completed work for quality assurance before finalising projects.
Skills
Proficiency in bricklaying techniques with a strong understanding of masonry principles.
Experience using both power tools (e.g., saws, drills) and hand tools (e.g., trowels, chisels).
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings accurately.
Knowledge of construction safety practices and regulations.
Strong physical stamina to perform manual labour for extended periods.
Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot issues on-site.
Experience in carpentry or welding is advantageous but not essential.
CSCS would be desirable, however training can be given to achieve.
