Overview

We are seeking a skilled Carpenter/ multi trader to join our family run team. Or a Improver carpenter who will be taught on the job. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in carpentry/ Or starting out, and be proficient in using both hand and power tools. This role requires the ability to read blueprints, perform precise measurements, and fabricate structures with a keen eye for detail. The Carpenter will work on various projects, in the residential sector ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Candidate must be able to hang doors and ideally be proficient in 1st fix Carpentry/roofs.

Responsibilities

Construct, install, and repair structures and fixtures made from wood, plywood, and wallboard. Use power tools and hand tools effectively to cut, shape, and join materials. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and requirements. Measure and mark cutting lines on materials using measuring devices. Assemble furniture or other items as per design specifications. Perform masonry work as needed for various projects. Ensure all work is completed in accordance with building codes and safety regulations. Conduct regular maintenance on tools and equipment to ensure optimal performance. Collaborate with other tradespeople such as electricians when required for integrated projects. Handle heavy lifting of materials as necessary during construction activities.

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Carpenter or similar role in the construction industry. Proficiency in using power tools (e.g., saws, drills) and hand tools (e.g., chisels, hammers). Strong understanding of plumb lines, levels, and other measuring instruments. Experience in joinery techniques is highly desirable. Familiarity with masonry work is an advantage but not essential. Ability to perform heavy lifting tasks safely and effectively. Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to producing high-quality work. Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team. A valid driver's licence may be required for travel between job sites.
