Multi Skilled Project Engineer

Overview

Rico Facilities Limited is hiring a hands on multi skilled project engineer to deliver planned capital projects for our clients. You will take defined scopes from pre start through delivery, snag and handover across refurbishments and fit outs in residential care, supported living, offices and light commercial. Typical packages include kitchens and bathrooms, carpentry, plastering, tiling, decorating, flooring, first and second fix plumbing and electrics, hygienic wall cladding, minor civils and external works.

What you will do

Deliver work to programme, drawings and specifications while maintaining a clean and safe site. Set out work areas, measure accurately, and manage materials against budgets. Carry out multi trade tasks to a high standard including plumbing, basic electrics, carpentry, plastering, tiling and decorating. Lead small teams of labourers and subcontractors, allocate tasks and drive productivity. Keep daily records, photographs, red line mark ups and maintain an organised site file. Support RAMS briefings, toolbox talks, permits to work and point of work assessments. Coordinate with the project manager, surveyor and client for access, variations and sign off. Achieve snag free handovers and produce straightforward handover information when required.
Skills and qualifications

Proven experience delivering planned refurb or fit out projects in a multi trade role. Strong competence in at least three of the following trades
plumbing, basic electrical, carpentry, plastering, tiling, decorating, flooring.

Able to read drawings, follow specifications and identify buildability issues early. Confident leading a small team to meet programme dates and quality standards. Clear communicator with clients and colleagues in writing and in person. Sound understanding of health and safety and CDM on live projects. Trade qualifications are an advantage. CSCS and asbestos awareness preferred. SSSTS or PASMA or IPAF are a plus.

Essential requirements

Own hand tools and cordless kit suitable for multi trade work. Willing and able to work away when projects require. Willing to undertake a DBS check funded by the company.
Salary and benefits

45,000 to 50,000 per year depending on skills and experience. Paid travel, accommodation and subsistence when working away. Statutory PPE provided plus project specific training and upskilling as needed. Structured programmes, clear scopes and support from an experienced delivery team.
