This full-time role of Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer directly to the Maintenance Manager and is within the Engineering department. This role is based on site at Bathford Paper Mill.

Job Purpose



To provide multi-skilled engineering support for both planned and unplanned engineering. This is based around a 4 shift 12hr annualised pattern and planned shut periods.

Key Responsibilities:



Investigate plant failures and carry out root cause analysis and problem-solving techniques to provide permanent solutions to avoid repeats. Supervise and direct contractors in both maintenance and project capacities To minimise the costs of maintaining equipment wherever possible. Liaise with process personnel on process improvements Assist in identifying engineering materials requirements. Carry out site installation of new equipment as well as modification of existing equipment and plant. Work with Maintenance Manager to develop Professional maintenance routines for key process equipment in line with OE requirements. To support the behaviour of working as, sharing best practice and collaborating with colleagues outside of own sphere of business. Provide hands-on support to production and service facilities Assist Production department with movement of materials when necessary. To ensure full participation in the performance development review process and maintain an up to date record of all training and development activities/programs. Skills, Qualifications and Experience:



Electro/mechanical apprenticeship or equivalent, including machine shop and welding capability. Additional training in complimentary engineering skills such as mechanical, electrical or instrumentation. Preferred knowledge of paper making processes. Experience of working on shifts as the primary engineer and comfortable managing your work priorities and time in alignment with the dept KPI targets. Computer literate Able to re-train in new technology, methodology, as the business needs dictate. Operation of Boiler and utilities plant. Utilise CMMS data base to record work done and identify opportunities for improvement. Strive for continuous improvement in all areas of the business. To supervise and direct contractors in both maintenance and project capacities.
