K Mai Consulting is working with a leading food manufacturer
to find a skilled and proactive Multi-Skilled Shift Engineer. This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced environment, perfect for a problem-solver who thrives on keeping production running smoothly.
Your Role:
You'll be the go-to expert for both planned and reactive maintenance on our production equipment. Your goal is simple: minimise downtime, fix issues right the first time, and ensure everything runs safely and efficiently.
Shift Pattern:
This is a full-time role (41.25 hours per week) on a two-week rotating shift pattern:
Week 1:
06:00 - 14:15 / 14:00 - 22:15
Week 2:
14:00 - 22:15 / 06:00 - 14:15
(Some weekend work may be required and is shared fairly across the team)
Is This You? We're Looking For a Hands-On Engineer Who:
Has completed a recognised
Engineering Apprenticeship
(Electrical, Mechanical, or Multi-skilled).
Holds an
ONC, BTEC, or equivalent
qualification. (An HNC is a great bonus!)
Is certified in
IEE 18th Edition
.
Has essential experience within the
Food Industry
and a strong understanding of
Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP)
.
Is a true problem-solver, able to diagnose and fix breakdowns on everything from pneumatics and PLCs to packaging and process equipment.
Your Key Skills & Experience:
(You should be familiar with several of the following)
Technical Knowledge:
PLCs (Siemens, Allen Bradley), HMI, Inverters, Pneumatics.
Experience with CMMS systems, SCADA, and Continuous Improvement techniques.
Personal Attributes:
A self-starter who can work safely on their own initiative and as part of a team.
A Day in the Life:
Respond quickly to breakdowns, diagnosing faults and performing repairs on production and site service equipment.
Carry out planned maintenance activities and help develop maintenance schedules.
Use Permit-to-Work systems and conduct Risk Assessments to ensure a safe working environment.
Get involved in Continuous Improvement and projects to make our processes better.
Support and coach production colleagues on technical best practices.
