About the Role

We are looking for an experienced

Multi-Skilled Tradesman

with a strong focus on

window fitting

, to work on secure projects within the

Ministry of Justice (MoJ) sector

.

The ideal candidate will

understand the demands of working in a prison environment

-- the security protocols, restricted access, and working within live, operational facilities. Previous experience in the prison or secure sector is highly desirable.

However, for the right candidate with a

strong window fitting background

, including installation, adjustment, and finishing of secure and commercial windows, we are prepared to provide full

training and support

to help you adapt to the MoJ sector and deliver high-quality results in secure environments.

This is a hands-on role offering long-term prospects and the chance to develop within a highly specialised area of construction.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality

window fitting works

, including: Installation of secure and anti-ligature windows Sealing, glazing, and finishing to specification Adjustment, maintenance, and minor repairs to existing window systems Support wider site works where required, including: Minor repair works and basic multi-trade tasks Joinery Work Painting & Decorating Operate safely and securely within live prison environments, following

strict security procedures

including tool checks, controlled deliveries, and restricted working hours. Maintain high standards of workmanship, durability, and compliance with MoJ specifications. Communicate progress effectively with Site Managers, prison staff, and project teams.

Requirements

Proven experience in

window fitting

, including secure or commercial installations. Previous experience in the

prison or secure environment sector

is preferred. Strong practical skills and willingness to support across other basic trades. High attention to detail and pride in delivering long-lasting, quality finishes. Awareness of

health & safety requirements

and a willingness to undertake MoJ-specific training. Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel to secure sites. Reliable, adaptable, and able to work professionally within a live prison environment.
