Are you an experienced construction professional who wants to pass on your skills, shape the next generation, and enjoy a better work-life balance than site-based roles can offer?

We are looking for a Lecturer in Multi-Skills (Construction) to join our Construction team at Stamford College. This is an opportunity to use your trade expertise in a rewarding teaching role that makes a real difference to learners' lives and to the future workforce.

You do not need to be an experienced teacher to apply. If you have strong industry experience and a passion for developing others, we will support you to gain your teaching qualification while you work.

About the role

You will teach and assess learners across a range of construction trades at Levels 1 to 3, supporting full-time students and apprentices to develop the skills, confidence and behaviours needed for employment. Alongside teaching, you will contribute to course coordination, learner progress, employer engagement and continuous improvement within the department.

This role offers variety, autonomy and the chance to work as part of a supportive, skilled team who value practical expertise just as much as teaching ability.

What you'll bring

Recent, hands-on experience in a construction trade A Level 3 (or equivalent) qualification in a construction discipline A genuine interest in supporting and inspiring young people and apprentices Strong communication skills and a positive, professional approach A commitment to high standards of health and safety Willingness to work towards a teaching qualification if not already held

Why make the move into teaching?

Pass on your trade knowledge and leave a lasting legacy Enjoy greater job security and a predictable working pattern Benefit from generous holidays and a strong pension Access funded training and ongoing professional development Be part of a values-led organisation focused on student success
You'll be supported by experienced colleagues, structured CPD, and clear quality frameworks, allowing you to focus on what matters most: developing skilled, confident learners.

IEG is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children, young people and any vulnerable groups within the college community and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be subject to a thorough vetting process which includes an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
