to support our Voids team in delivering high-quality refurbishment and reinstatement works across a busy housing portfolio. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong core carpentry skills while confidently undertaking associated trades, ensuring void properties are returned to a lettable standard efficiently and to a high professional standard.
Key Responsibilities: Carpentry & Fittings
First and second-fix carpentry, including doors, frames, skirting, architraves, and general joinery.
Kitchen fitting
, including units, worktops, fixtures, and repairs.
Installation and repair of flooring, boxing-in, and general fabric works.
Associated Multi-Trade Tasks
Plastering
: patch plastering, bonding, skimming small areas, and making good surfaces.
Painting & Decorating
: surface preparation, undercoating, glossing, and finishing works to a lettable standard.
Completion of smaller
ad-hoc repairs
, minor maintenance tasks, and general void reinstatement duties as required.
Roofing works
Operational Duties
Complete works within agreed pricework rates or day-rate arrangements, depending on task type.
Work to schedule, ensuring void properties are completed within target turnaround times.
Maintain accurate documentation of completed works, variations, and material usage.
Liaise professionally with supervisors, tenants (where applicable), and other trades.
Follow company health & safety policies, safe working practices, and risk assessment procedures.
RequirementsEssential Skills & Experience
Proven experience as a qualified carpenter or multi-skilled tradesperson.
Competence in plastering, painting, kitchen fitting, and general maintenance tasks.
Experience working within
voids, responsive repairs, or social housing environments
(preferred).
Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and complete jobs to a high standard.
Tools & Transport
Own van and full set of tools
required (power and hand tools appropriate to the trade).
Clean UK driving licence.

Mixed payment structure
