Responsibilities
Carry out first and second fix carpentry works in residential and commercial settings.
Install, repair, and maintain wooden structures, fixtures, doors, windows, staircases, skirting, and bespoke joinery items.
Undertake basic tasks in other trades when required, such as minor plumbing repairs, tiling, painting, decorating, or roofing patch repairs.
Read and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and work instructions.
Measure, cut, shape, and assemble timber and wood-based materials using hand tools, power tools, and woodworking machinery.
Conduct inspections to identify defects and carry out remedial works.
Work safely at height and in confined spaces where required, following all site safety requirements.
Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure projects are completed on time and to specification.
Maintain accurate records of work performed and materials used.
Adhere to all site health and safety regulations at all times.
Essential Qualifications & Certifications
Valid CSCS Card
NVQ Level 2 or above
in Carpentry & Joinery (or equivalent qualification)
Asbestos Awareness Training
COSHH Training
Face Fit Certificate
for respiratory protective equipment
Experience
Proven experience as a Carpenter or in a similar qualified role with additional multi-trade skills.
Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
Ability to carry out minor works in at least two additional trade areas (e.g., plumbing, roofing, tiling, decorating).
Ability to work from technical drawings and specifications.
Basic maths skills for measuring, marking out, and calculating material requirements accurately.
Familiarity with safe manual handling and the ability to lift and transport materials.
Candidate must have a car and full driving licence.
