The objective of the department is to perform preventive and corrective maintenance in both electrical and mechanical disciplines, ensuring tasks are carried out swiftly, adhere to safety policies, conform with required specifications to overall achieve the factory's reliability KPI to reduce unplanned downtime.
The shift engineer reports to the reactive maintenance manager and co-operates with colleagues on 4 shift system plus day shift colleagues. The shift engineer frequently works outside of office hours and will be expected to work independently using own initiative. Outside normal day working hours the shift managers covers nominal LM duties.
Key Accountabilities and Responsibilities
Follow all safety procedures including LOTO (log off/tag out)
Ensure workshop and working areas adhere to GMP policies.
Carry out corrective maintenance repairs in a timely fashion to reduce mean time to repair (MTTR).
Complete relevant CMMS documentation with details of work carried out, outstanding work required, and correct booking of parts used.
Carry out small projects as requested by LM.
Assist in identifying common reoccurring faults and raise suggestions on how to resolve.
Present an accurate assessment of the issue to the shift manager, and any on shift colleagues who require that information. Whilst carrying out the required repairs
Accompanying contractors that are temporarily added to the shift and issue any relevant permits required.
To carry out PPM inspections, assessing the state of equipment on the basis of check lists and own insight, noting findings and discussing measures to be taken with the RMM, Preventative maintenance manager and area engineers.
Conduct initial stages of RCA for failures that cause a line stoppages (5W1H).
Carry out component overhaul inside the engineering workshop as directed by engineering management team.
Ensure all tooling is present, in the correct condition and if deviation occurs complete the relevant paperwork.
Out of hours ensure the escalation process is followed.
Be the responsible persons to any emergency situations that arise whilst on shift.
Any other reasonable task as requested by your management team.

Qualifications
A recognised engineering qualification, City & Guilds or HNC equivalent
Lamb Weston chemical training, H+S, GMP and food safety desirable
Experience
3+ years maintenance engineering experience within an automated manufacturing operation
2-3 years' manufacturing experience
SAP/SCADA experience
