Join Our Team as a Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer - Avonmouth
Nisbets is seeking a proactive and enthusiastic Multi-Skilled Maintenance Engineer to join our growing Engineering team in Avonmouth. Reporting directly to the Automation Engineering Manager, you'll play a vital role in keeping our site running smoothly and efficiently, working with a wide range of modern automation equipment including conveyors, AMR robots, and carton-handling machinery.
This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer looking to take the next step in a stable, supportive, and forward thinking business. You'll be involved in all aspects of planned and reactive maintenance and will gain hands on experience with cutting edge automated systems.
This role is based in Avonmouth - Monday - Friday, 07:00 - 16:00 (40 Hour week) with participation in an out of hours call out rota.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on automation equipment across the site.
Develop new skills and gain hands-on experience with advanced automated systems.
Diagnose and resolve equipment faults quickly to minimise downtime.
Work safely at all times, adhering to company policies and regulatory standards.
Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance equipment reliability and performance.
Participate in an on call rota and occasional weekend cover (overtime available).
Collaborate closely with operational teams to maximise automation availability and reduce production impact.
Maintain accurate maintenance records and ensure systems remain compliant and operational.
Complete thorough risk assessments and follow safe working practices throughout all tasks.
Skills, Experience & Qualifications
Proven experience in a multi skilled maintenance role.
Time served apprenticeship desirable but not essential.
Relevant qualifications such as ONC, NVQ Level 3, MS Elec, or equivalent.
Strong understanding of automation systems, including fault finding and troubleshooting.
Experience delivering both planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a flexible approach to weekend work when required.
Excellent communication skills and a strong commitment to safety.
Good IT capability, particularly with Microsoft Excel and general office applications.
Experience using CMMS software is an advantage but not essential.
Driving License
