The role:
Reporting to the engineering manager, your main tasks will be continuous improvement, maintaining, repairing and improving production equipment and systems across multiple disciplines to minimise downtime and maximise operational efficiency.
You will be based predominantly at our Riverside site in Sheffield, however you will be expected to travel between all six Gripple Ltd manufacturing sites, four of which are in the Lower Don Valley area of Sheffield, so you will need to be in possession of a full UK/EU driving licence.
Who you are:
The ideal candidate should ideally be apprentice-trained with experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment. You must be extremely
team oriented
, and IT literate with excellent
communication skills
. You should be mechanically biased, but with some electrical ability and experience.
You should have knowledge of the following:
Planned Preventive Maintenance (PPM)
Carrying out scheduled inspections and servicing of machinery and equipment
Replacing work parts and lubricating components to prevent breakdowns
Reactive maintenance
Diagnosing and repairing mechanical and electrical faults promptly to minimise downtime
Troubleshooting issues with motors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and control systems
Continuous improvement
Identifying and implementing improvements to increase equipment reliability and efficiency
Supporting lean manufacturing and TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) initiatives
Compliance and safety
Adhering to health and safety regulations during all maintenance activities
Maintaining accurate records of work completed and parts used
Collaboration
Working closely with production teams to minimise disruption
