At Patersons Quarries we are a family run business that operates hard rock Quarries and a Quarry working Silica Sand, supplying industrial minerals into specialist sand

markets and construction markets.

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled operative to join our team. The successful candidate will play a vital role in supporting various operations within our organisation. This position requires a blend of mechanical knowledge and practical skills, particularly in commercial driving and operating excavators. The ideal candidate will be proactive, detail-oriented, and capable of working both independently and as part of a team.

Duties

Weighbridge Operation Operate excavators and other heavy machinery safely and efficiently. Assist in the transportation of materials and equipment as required. Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time while adhering to safety regulations. Maintain accurate records of work performed and report any issues or malfunctions promptly. Support various operational tasks as assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility in duties.

Experience

Previous experience on mobile plant/weighbridge would be advantageous Previous experience in operating excavators is desirable. Strong mechanical knowledge with the ability to troubleshoot basic equipment issues. Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment while also being self-motivated. Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to facilitate clear interactions with colleagues and management. Be able to work in outdoor conditions Be willing to learn about the Quarry and Machinery and be willing to undertake training on heavy machinery Flexible in working hours and being able to support with overtime when needed Be able to provide and maintain high levels of housekeeping across the site.
