To assist in organising and delivering after-school music drop-in sessions, creating a safe, engaging space for young people to build resilience and positive coping strategies

Outreach & Venue Coordination

To engage with schools, community centres and other venues across Luton and Bedfordshire to secure suitable locations for programme delivery, and maintain strong relationships with venue providers

Collaboration & Support

To provide guidance and support to staff members and volunteers who assist with programme facilitation, ensuring adherence to therapeutic goals and best practices in mental health support

To actively contribute to promoting awareness and encouraging young people to participate in the programme as an early intervention measure, with an emphasis on targeting the early signs of potential anti-social behaviours and fostering improved emotional wellbeing.

Evaluation & Reporting

To collect and maintain accurate records of CYP PT (Children and Young People's Psychological Therapies, was CYP-IAPT) outcome measures to track participant progress and program effectiveness

To complete routine evaluation reports, providing insights and recommendations to enhance the therapeutic value of programs, support early intervention strategies, and improve outcomes for young people

To perform other related duties as requested by the coordinator and service manager, contributing to the continuous improvement of the service

Essential Skills and Experience

Demonstrable experience in delivering therapeutic, recreational, music or youth programs, with a focus on mental health and emotional wellbeing support for young people

Experience with managing challenging behaviour in groups, and understanding of SEN children

A solid understanding of early intervention strategies, including techniques for promoting resilience, and enhancing emotional wellbeing

Interest and/or understanding of the interrelationship between emotional wellbeing and social issues e.g. knife crime, anti-social behaviour, exploitation and crime

Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people from diverse backgrounds, as well as other team members, volunteers, and external partners

Training in mental health support, youth counselling, or related areas is highly desirable

This role requires a compassionate, proactive individual who is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of young people through music, sport and recreational activities.
