Cornerstone Children's Homes is currently recruiting a
Senior Residential Care Worker
to support a young person with complex needs in a solo residential setting in Reading. In addition to delivering high-quality care, you will guide and support a committed team, helping shape a safe, therapeutic, and consistent environment.
About the Role
As a Senior Residential Care Worker, you will play a central role in both care delivery and team leadership. You will ensure the wellbeing of the young person remains at the heart of everything we do, while also leading daily operations, supporting staff, and upholding the highest standards of care practice.
Key Responsibilities
Provide one-to-one therapeutic, trauma-informed support to a young person in a solo setting
Prioritise the emotional, behavioural, and physical wellbeing of the young person at all times
Respond confidently and safely to crisis situations using trained de-escalation and intervention techniques
Mentor, supervise, and lead care staff, including overseeing shift management and rota planning
Deliver and review tailored support plans focused on emotional health and behavioural needs
Work in partnership with external professionals including social workers and therapists
Maintain robust standards of safeguarding, documentation, and health & safety compliance
What We're Looking For
Substantial experience in complex care settings, ideally within mental health or therapeutic environments
Confident in behaviour management, including de-escalation and physical intervention
A calm, emotionally resilient approach to care and leadership
Strong leadership skills with a proactive and supportive approach to team development
A full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle with business insurance
