Commission-Based Business Development Executive
The executive will lead and assist with sales and marketing activities, including selling and marketing WPGM's media content and PR services to the right markets (e.g., sponsors, advertisers, corporate clients, music executives, record labels, and artists). Responsibilities will include seeking and securing sponsorship and advertising for WPGM's media content across various platforms, developing new markets and clientele for WPGM's press and PR services, and creating and leading marketing campaigns to promote WPGM's media content to sponsors and PR services to corporate and music clients. The executive will generate innovative ideas to drive sponsorship, advertising, and PR client acquisition, improve the presence and visibility of WPGM's digital press and PR services within corporate brands and music companies, and compile and prepare reports, presentations, and correspondence to support business development efforts.
Commission-Based Business Development Executive Day-To-Day Task Breakdown
1. Selling and marketing WPGM's media content and PR services to the right market, including sponsors, advertisers, corporate clients, music executives, record labels, and artists.
2. Seeking and securing sponsorship and advertising for WPGM's media content across TV, radio, digital platforms, and online platforms such as wepluggoodmusic.com and conversationsabouther.net.
3. Developing new markets and clientele for WPGM's PR services and media content.
4. Creating and leading marketing campaigns to promote WPGM's media content to sponsors and advertisers, and PR services to corporate and music clients.
5. Generating new ideas and strategies to drive sponsorship, advertising, and PR client acquisition.
6. Identifying and implementing innovative opportunities to increase engagement with media content (for sponsors and advertisers) and PR services (for potential clients).
7. Developing and delivering comprehensive marketing strategies, including goal planning, strategic initiatives, and calendar planning for WPGM's media and PR businesses.
8. Improving the presence and visibility of WPGM's digital PR and press services within corporate brands and music companies in key markets, including the UK, America, and Africa.
9. Exploring ways to improve the marketability and profitability of existing media content and PR services.
10. Identifying target markets and creating strategies to effectively communicate with them.
11. Developing key media partnerships across digital, TV, radio, and print to enhance WPGM's brand image.
13. Positioning WPGM strategically as a premium media brand and PR services provider.
14. Acting as a brand champion for WPGM by maintaining consistent and positive representation.
15. Liaising and networking with a range of stakeholders, including sponsors, advertisers, corporate PR clients, and music PR clients, to build and maintain long-term relationships.
16. Building and maintaining a database of contact lists, including UK, American, and African record labels, management companies, and artists for potential PR clients.
17. Building a contact list database of global brands, media buyers, and ad agencies for potential advertising and sponsorship clients.
18. Achieving frequent, timely, and positive media coverage for WPGM across TV, radio, digital, and print platforms.
19. Creating brand campaigns and promotional plans that significantly increase awareness of WPGM's media and PR services.
20. Compiling and preparing reports, presentations, and correspondence to support marketing and business development efforts.
Commission-Based Business Development Executive Qualifications
1. Proven interest or experience in sales, marketing, or business development (experience in the media, publishing, or PR industries is a plus).
2. Strong understanding of sponsorship, advertising, and client acquisition strategies.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to prepare professional reports and presentations.
4. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain long-term relationships with clients and stakeholders.
5. Exceptional organisational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
6. Proficiency in using digital tools and platforms for marketing, communications, and research (e.g., CRM tools, social media platforms, or analytics tools).
7. A self-starter mindset with the ability to generate innovative ideas and work independently in a commission-based role.
8. Knowledge of or familiarity with the music, media, or entertainment industries, including key markets like the UK, America, and Africa, is highly desirable.
