North Yorkshire Music Service is looking for skilled and enthusiastic music teachers specialising in Brass and/or Strings at Skipton Music Centre.
Skipton Music Centre is a lively Saturday morning centre, delivering activities for children and adults across a range of instruments and genres. The new post holders will take over our instrumental lessons in Brass and/or Strings, teaching musicianship and instrumental technique in small groups. They will also be responsible for leading an ensemble - our thriving Beginner Band, senior Concert Band or there is flexibility for another specialism (e.g. folk or jazz).
The ideal candidate will be creative and enthusiastic, confident in supporting young people at different stages of their musical journey. They will be interested in contributing to the community of the music centre and collaborating with the wider staff team.
The salary is for 3.5 hours per week, 30 sessions per academic year (pro-rata over 52 weeks). Additional hours for concerts can also be claimed in addition to these set hours.
The contract is fixed term for one year, to be reviewed after that.
