24 hours per week, 37 Weeks per year



Actual Salary: 12,466.04 - 16,109.75 per annum



(FTE 25,458.82 - 32,900.20 per annum)



We are seeking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic professional to teach Music skills to groups of students of mixed abilities aged 16 - 25 who attend Ruskin Mill College, Nailsworth.

You will be responsible for the delivery of teaching and learning and supporting other tutors with the embedding of music within a practical skills environment. You must be able to instil enthusiasm and enjoyment into the learning process in such a way that can lead to increased self-esteem and enhanced engagement in learning.

Applicants for this post must have experience of teaching/working with young people and vulnerable adults with special educational needs, challenging behaviours and mental health difficulties. You must be able to teach music from Pre-Entry Level up to Level 2. Applicants must hold a teaching qualification or be willing to work towards an appropriate qualification, starting within 6 months of commencing in role, with a view to completion within 2 years of starting.

In your role as Music Tutor you will be required to participate and support with the music for festivals, productions and events throughout the year. You would also have responsibility for both staff and student choirs.

These events may require rehearsal, preparation and meeting times that need to be completed outside of the college day and week.

Applicants must have a professional approach, be flexible and able to work alongside students engaged in craft and land work, as well as in a classroom setting.
