PQA Reading is looking for an enthusiastic Musical Theatre Teacher to join our team due to expansions.

About the role:

This is a regular position, roughly 41 Saturdays throughout the year. We have 2 sessions AM - 09:45 to 13:00 and PM 13:45 to 17:00. Salary is 60-65 per session so 120-130 for the day, travel negotiable if over 30 miles.

You will be teaching Singing, Dance, Drama and Performance techniques in a range of genres from Pop to Musical Theatre, Acting Through Song to Musical Theatre on Film and there is the opportunity to choreograph for PQA's West End Season, book musicals and showcases.

- You will be teaching children from 6 - 18 years in 3 age group classes per session. Lesson plans can be provided to use wholly or as a guideline.

- Planning, creating and devising performance projects / showcases for students and facilitating the necessary rehearsals (lesson plans can be provided also)

- Assisting other teachers with their showcases where reasonably required;

- Welcoming parents and answering queries

- Marketing PQA Reading at occasional workshops and assemblies in the local area;

- Assisting with the Creative Stages Reports scheme by monitoring individual students' progress and achievements, and occasionally providing comments;

- Assisting with the loading and unloading of essential equipment required to run classes;

- Complying with the policies, training manuals and modules and with our Codes of Behavior including but not only our anti-corruption and bribery policy and procedures. Failure to do so may result in the immediate termination of this agreement;

About you:

- Already having an enhanced DBS on the update service would be advantageous but can be arranged

- Knowledge of practical singing, dance, drama and performance techniques.

- Experience in working with children and young people.

- Having a First Aid Certificate would also be advantageous.
