Main Purpose:

The National Account Manager - Healthcare is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic relationships across UK healthcare construction and infrastructure sectors. The role focuses on engaging with private sector healthcare providers, modular healthcare facility providers, NHS hospitals, main contractors, and key sub-contractors involved in the UK Government's New Hospital Build Programme and other healthcare frameworks developing new or refurbished healthcare facilities.

The role is highly relationship-driven, combining strategic account management, early-stage project engagement, and long-term opportunity development to drive sustainable revenue growth.

Key Responsibilities




Strategic Account & Relationship Management




Develop and manage long-term, senior-level relationships with key national healthcare accounts, including private healthcare providers, NHS Trusts, and modular healthcare specialists. Establish strong working relationships with main contractors and key sub-contractors (e.g. electrical contractors) operating within healthcare frameworks and capital build programmes. Act as the primary point of contact for assigned national accounts, ensuring consistent engagement and value delivery.

New Business Development & Project Engagement




Identify and engage with healthcare construction and refurbishment projects at concept, design, and pre-construction stages. Track and influence opportunities within the UK Government's New Hospital Build Programme and other healthcare development frameworks. Work collaboratively with specification, design, and technical stakeholders to secure project inclusion and preferred supplier status. Develop a robust pipeline of healthcare-related opportunities across new build, refurbishment, and modular projects.

Frameworks & Market Intelligence




Maintain a strong understanding of relevant healthcare frameworks, procurement routes, and capital investment programmes. Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and upcoming healthcare infrastructure investments. Provide insight and feedback to the wider business to support product development, service offering, and go-to-market strategies.

Internal Collaboration & Delivery




Work closely with internal sales support, technical, project delivery, and commercial teams to ensure seamless execution of customer requirements. Ensure accurate forecasting, reporting, and CRM management for all assigned accounts and opportunities. Support pricing, tender responses, and commercial negotiations in line with company objectives.

Performance & Governance




Deliver agreed revenue, margin, and growth targets for national healthcare accounts. Ensure all activities comply with internal governance, compliance, and healthcare sector requirements. Represent the business professionally at industry events, conferences, and networking forums.



Skills & Experience




Essential




Proven experience in a National Account Manager, Key Account Manager, or senior business development role within the healthcare, construction, or building services sectors. Demonstrated success in developing relationships across complex stakeholder groups, including end users, contractors, and sub-contractors. Strong understanding of healthcare construction, refurbishment, or modular facility delivery environments. Experience working with public sector frameworks and large-scale capital programmes. Excellent negotiation, communication, and relationship-building skills.

Desirable




Knowledge of the UK Government's New Hospital Build Programme and NHS procurement processes. Experience working with main contractors and electrical sub-contractors within healthcare projects. Technical or specification-led sales experience.
