National Capacity Manager

Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity for a National Capacity Manager for our Supply Chain Network.



This role will sit in a key team to measure the current warehouse capacity and plan a warehouse strategy to support this fast-growing business and complement our portfolio of 5 Distribution Centres.





This role is full time and will be based around our distribution network.


Duties will include:




Demand Forecasting:

Analysing historical data, market trends, and internal factors to accurately predict future demand for storage, handling, and shipping.

Capacity Planning and Analysis:

Assessing the current "design capacity" (maximum output under ideal conditions) versus "effective capacity" (realistic output given operational constraints) and identifying gaps or excess capacity.

Resource Optimisation:

Developing plans to optimise the use of existing resources, including maximising vertical storage space, adjusting aisle widths, and efficiently allocating labour and material handling equipment (MHE).

Risk Identification and Resolution:

Monitoring key processes to find constraints that hinder the flow of goods and implementing improvements to increase throughput and efficiency.

Strategic Planning:

Contributing to long-term business strategy by making informed recommendations on when to invest in new equipment, technology, or facility expansion to support growth.

Performance Monitoring:

Establishing and tracking KPIs, like space utilisation and inventory turnover to evaluate performance and drive continuous improvement.

Collaboration:

Work close with other departments to ensure a coordinated and integrated approach to capacity management across the entire supply chain.
