Job Description

Role Summary:
The National Development Manager: Education & Workforce is responsible for leading and delivering Netball Scotland's strategies. This role ensures the effective growth and development of coaches, officials, volunteers, and workforce across the domestic and performance pathways, aligned with Netball Scotland's corporate strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership

• Lead the development and execution of Netball Scotland's strategies to increase the quality and quantity of coaches, officials, and volunteers.
• Manage national development projects aligned with organisational priorities.

Operational Management

• Line manage and support the Education Officer and a national team of Tutors & Assessors.
• Oversee the administration of PVG process.
• Collaborate across departments to inform operational planning using data and insights.
• Work with National Development Managers and Officers to deliver local training and volunteer opportunities.
• Monitor and evaluate plans to ensure effectiveness and impact.
• Build and manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders, partners, and federations.
• Represent Netball Scotland in relevant forums and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Education & Training

• Lead and develop education and training product innovation and development.
• Oversee education systems and content creation to meet evolving membership needs.
• Lead education elements of Elite Coach and Elite Umpire Mentoring and Development Pathways.
• Ensure cross departmental alignment on education and development needs.

Workforce Development

• Lead the design and activation of national and local workforce plans, including FE/HE frameworks.
• Identify and implement workforce growth opportunities.
• Support equality and inclusion efforts, ensuring diverse representation across the tutor and volunteer network.
• Design and implement training for Tutors, Assessors, Match Bench Officials, and Volunteers.

Volunteer Engagement

• Oversee the rollout of the Volunteer Strategy across all levels of the sport.
• Collaborate with clubs, associations, universities, and events to embed volunteer pathways.

Financial Management

• Manage and monitor allocated budgets, ensuring alignment with annual operational plans.
• Lead financial planning and analysis for education activities, driving income generation and sustainability.
• Support the Education Officer with financial processes and controls.

Other Duties:

• Perform other responsibilities as required.
