Job Description

Are you an experienced sales leader with a passion for developing high-performing teams? We're looking for a dynamic and strategic National Sales Manager to lead our UK & Northern Ireland team of Major Account Managers.


Logistics UK, the new name for FTA. We're one of the biggest business groups in the UK, representing the entire industry with members from the road, rail, sea and air industries, as well as the buyers of freight services such as retailers and manufacturers. We have not changed our focus or the critical services, support, and advice we provide to our members.


In this role, the National Sales Manager will be responsible for driving the proactive sale of Logistics UK's services portfolio, ensuring revenue and margin targets are met. You'll support your team through regular field accompaniments, ongoing development, and by enhancing ways of working to deliver maximum value for our members and the business. A key part of your role will also be to improve the quality and use of account data, helping to support wider organisational goals.


The key responsibilities for the National Sales Manager will be:


To achieve the National assigned sales target of new Logistics UK services contract revenue within year. To support each team member in delivering or exceeding business targets and objectives. To build relationships with members across the National portfolio to widen the connectivity within the members business. This is to include higher levels of connection across members to deepen understanding of Logistics UK value and services. To provide on the job support and coaching for all team members to facilitate successful approach to achieving and exceeding revenue and margin targets. Work with each team member to identify personal development goals. Build and deliver development plans and actions plans to support achievement of these areas. To plan quarterly performance reviews for each account manager, across all objectives and KPI's. These reviews are to be recorded in the Logistics UK HR system. To report on the activity to the General Manager in line with company reporting and achievement of all targets. To work alongside the Head of Contract Management and Contract Management team members to maximise value for members and revenue for logistics UK. To seek ways of maximising the value of the won contracts both to the customer and to Logistics UK in line with annual targets set. To feed any leads that arise for other services from discussions to the appropriate Account Manager/Contract Manager or business unit. To build cross functional relationships with key personnel and departments within Logistics UK To represent Logistics UK at public events such as Trade Shows, Seminars and Council Events.

Requirements



Proven experience in leading and managing field-based teams. Strong organisational and relationship-building skills, with the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both internally and externally. Self-motivated and proactive, with solid computer literacy. Experience in a consultative direct sales role, including successful pipeline management to meet targets. Coaching, mentoring, or people development experience is desirable to support team performance. A demonstrated track record of consistently achieving sales targets and goals.
