About the role

Reporting to the Head of Supply Chain and Network Planning, the Transport Contract Manager will be responsible for the effective management and optimisation of transportation services provided by various third-party logistics partner. This role involves overseeing the entire transport contracts, ensuring timely, efficient replenishment and delivery to our distribution centres, our national retail estate and our direct customers. The successful candidate will have a strong background in logistics, contract management, and a proven track record of driving operational excellence.


Contract Management:




Develop and maintain strong working relationships with the third-party transport companies. Monitor contract compliance and enforce service level agreements (SLAs). Negotiate contract terms and conditions to optimise cost and service levels.

Operational Oversight:




Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand replenishment requirements. Implement and monitor operational processes to ensure timely and accurate deliveries. Address any operational issues and implement corrective actions.

Performance Metrics:




Define key performance indicators (KPIs) and regularly evaluate the performance of the transport companies. Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Budget Management:




Develop and manage the transport budgets in collaboration with finance teams. Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to achieve financial targets.

Risk Management:




Identify potential risks to the transportation operations and implement risk mitigation strategies. Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards.

Communication:




Facilitate clear and effective communication between internal teams and the third-party transport provider. Provide regular updates on transportation performance and initiatives.

About You

Proven experience in transport management and contract negotiation (preferably a minimum of 5 years experience). Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain processes. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills. Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with relevant regulations and industry best practices.
