Join our community.
We're a fast-paced, innovative business area, revolutionising the way people trade internationally. We are looking for a talented and passionate editorial assistant/sub-editor to help us take our digital international trade platform to new global heights.
Navigator Global is here to help SMEs take on the world of international trade and win. SMEs that operate across borders are often more resilient, more profitable, and grow faster than those that stick to domestic markets. However, for many businesses, the time, cost, and risk of going global can stand in the way of success. Owned by Santander and supported by the global transformation capabilities of dentsu, Navigator Global is launching a world-first platform and ecosystem delivering intelligent insight, coaching and connections to help SMEs tackle the complexity, risk and cost of doing business across borders.
As Associate Editor/Senior Reporter, you'll be part of a collaborative Content & Editorial Team that produces trusted, high-quality content on international trade, business and cross-border growth. You'll generate, research and produce compelling stories, while taking the lead within our internal newsroom - overseeing the editorial process alongside the managing editor, coordinating editorial flows and upholding the highest standards of quality and insight.
This position is ideal for a seasoned reporter with solid experience in global trade or business journalism who is looking to expand their role and take on more editorial duties while still being actively involved in content creation. If that sounds like you, then we want to hear from you!
The difference you'll make:
Staying ahead of developments in international trade, supply chains and global markets to ensure our coverage remains timely and relevant to our readers.
Upholding and championing editorial best practices, and delivering compelling, well-researched stories that align with our core focus areas across the consumer goods, manufacturing and industrial sectors worldwide.
Assisting the managing editor in managing and coordinating internal and external content flows to ensure consistent, end-to-end coverage that reflects our wider global proposition
Expanding our reach by identifying new story formats, series or angles that resonate with SME audiences and position us as a trusted source
What you'll bring:
These are the essential requirements you need to be successful in this role:
Excellent senior journalism or in-house editorial experience covering business, trade, or complex global topics, with a solid published portfolio of high-quality, accurate content
Exceptional writing, editing and fact-checking skills, as well as familiarity with media law and editorial standards, with a sharp eye for detail, structure, style and tone.
Solid understanding of international trade, global markets or supply chains, and the ability to translate complex issues into clear, engaging stories for a business audience.
Ability to establish and maintain relationships with key industry players to produce exclusive, proprietary content that is unavailable elsewhere, as well as confidence working closely with other stakeholders to deliver end-to-end, audience-first coverage
A proactive approach and willingness to pitch new ideas, respond to fast-changing developments and adapt priorities when needed
It would also be nice for you to have:
Additional languages are highly beneficial
Prior experience in a leadership or section editor role, managing an editorial team or freelancers in a fast-paced newsroom environment
Established contacts and networks worldwide across trade policy, industry bodies etc and in core business sectors, particularly food and beverage, consumer goods, manufacturing and industrials
Data journalism and multimedia digital content production skills
What else you need to know:
