Navigator, Housing First

Bradford, ENG, GB, United Kingdom

Job Description

IF YOU WISH TO APPLY FOR THE POSITION, PLEASE COMPLETE THE BRIDGE PROJECT'S APPLICATION FORM TO BE CONSIDERED.

The Bridge Project is a well-established, vibrant Charity with a dedicated team providing services to a broad range of people experiencing the effects of deprivation and health inequalities. We now have a vacancy for a part-time Navigator within our Housing First team, working 35 hours per week.

Housing First has proven success in supporting people with multiple needs and vulnerabilities to maintain housing. The main premise is that an individual should not need to prove they are ready for housing and is instead given a permanent offer of their own home, along with an intensive long-term support package to enable them to maintain it. Housing First is delivered as a partnership between Bradford Council and the Bridge Project.

We are looking for someone who is qualified to Social Care Level 3 or equivalent or qualified through appropriate life or job experience along with at least 1 years' experience of delivering advice or support in health, social care, homelessness or an offender service setting in the last 3 years. You will be highly organised with excellent communication skills and able to manage your time effectively, working as part of a supportive team to ensure a high-quality service is maintained, whilst applying your knowledge and understanding of trauma informed care approaches.

Most of all, you will place individuals at the heart of your interactions, with the ability to build up a rapport and trust, with personal skills around warmth, compassion, empathy and resilience with a desire to help people and get things done. Often situations can sometimes be difficult and challenging so you will need to be non-judgemental with a good understanding of the needs of chronically excluded and vulnerable people.

It is essential that the successful candidate has a driving licence with access to a vehicle in order to transport clients in connection with the role.

A willingness to undergo an enhanced DBS check is also a requirement of the post.

As well as a rewarding career, in return we can offer a competitive salary, 4% pension contribution, excellent annual leave entitlement, employee assistance scheme, life insurance and a programme of mindfulness activities for staff. The Bridge Project is a Mindful Employer.

If you would like to have an informal conversation about the role, please contact recruitment@thebridgeproject.org.uk to arrange this.
