As a

Cable Jointer Mate

, you'll work assisting skilled professionals in connecting low-voltage connections to DNO/IDNO networks associated with unmetered supplies, generally in the public highway or utilities environment. This physically demanding role requires a strong work ethic, a willingness to learn, and the ability to thrive in various weather conditions.

Essential criteria;



Who we are looking for:

Experience:

Minimum 2 years as a Jointer's Mate in the immediate past three years in NERS sector. Proven experience in cable jointing on distribution networks for unmetered supplies.

Qualifications:

Basic Health and Safety (ECS HE version H&S test), training in underground service safety.

Time Management:

Strong time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.

Communication:

Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Able to solve technical issues that arise on site in order to ensure productivity remains high.

Physical Fitness:

Physically fit to handle demanding work, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.

Safety:

Committed to safety protocols and creating a safe work environment.

Travel:

Full UK driving license and willingness to travel nationwide, including occasional unsocial hours.

Role and responsibilities;



What your role will include:

General:

Assist cable jointers in LV connections to DNO/IDNO networks. Excavate joint holes and prepare cables for jointing.

Technical:

Properly use and maintain assigned equipment. Adhere to safety instructions, procedures, risk assessments, permits to work, and reporting protocols.

Financial:

Accurately report all work hours on timesheets to the line manager.

Decision Making:

Exercise independent judgment in technical tasks.

Training and Development:

Use only equipment for which you are trained and competent.

Management and Leadership:

Collaborate with management to ensure team performance and alignment with company objectives.

Health, Safety, and Environment:

Prioritise personal and team safety. Use PPE correctly and follow safety procedures. Contribute to the company's Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems. Cooperate with management in complying with health, safety, and environmental regulations. Assist in safety and quality management audits.
