Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Umpire to officiate games in a fair and impartial manner. The ideal candidate will possess a strong understanding of the rules of the game, demonstrate excellent communication skills, and maintain a professional demeanour on and off the field. This role is essential in ensuring that all matches are conducted smoothly and that players adhere to the established rules.

Duties

Officiate games by enforcing rules and regulations consistently and fairly. Make accurate calls on plays, including strikes, balls, fouls, and other game-related decisions. Communicate effectively with players, coaches, and spectators regarding decisions made during the game. Maintain control of the game environment to ensure safety for all participants. Attend pre-game meetings to discuss expectations and any specific rules relevant to the match. Keep up-to-date with changes in rules and regulations to ensure compliance during officiating duties. Collaborate with fellow officials to provide a cohesive officiating team during matches.

Requirements

Strong knowledge of the sport's rules and regulations. Previous experience as an umpire or referee is preferred but not essential; training may be provided for suitable candidates. Excellent communication skills to interact effectively with players, coaches, and spectators. Ability to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions during high-stress situations. Strong observational skills to accurately assess plays and player behaviour. Physical fitness to keep up with the pace of play throughout matches. Availability to work evenings and weekends as required by match schedules.
