Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Network Support and Desktop Services Specialist to join our IT team. This role combines comprehensive network infrastructure management with end-user desktop support services. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining secure, reliable network operations while ensuring seamless desktop and endpoint management across our organization.

Key Responsibilities

Network Infrastructure Management

Design, implement, and maintain network policies and procedures Configure and manage firewalls, routers, switches, and network security appliances Establish and maintain VPN connections, WAN, LAN, WiFi, and WLAN infrastructures Implement and manage Zero Trust network security frameworks Configure IPsec tunnels and secure network communications Deploy and maintain IP telephony systems and VoIP infrastructure Monitor network performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and optimize network efficiency Manage Microsoft Azure VPN services and cloud networking solutions

Desktop Services and Endpoint Management

Configure and manage Microsoft 365 user accounts, licenses, and permissions Deploy and maintain Microsoft Intune policies for device management and security Provide ongoing management and support for desktop computers, laptops, and mobile devices Install, configure, and troubleshoot printer systems and other peripheral devices Manage endpoint security, software deployment, and system updates Provide technical support and training to end users Maintain inventory of IT assets and coordinate hardware lifecycle management

General IT Support

Document network configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides Participate in IT projects and infrastructure upgrades Ensure compliance with organizational security policies and industry standards Provide after-hours support as needed for critical systems

Mandatory Skills and Qualifications

Network Infrastructure (Required)

Network Policy Development

: Experience designing and implementing comprehensive network policies and security frameworks

Network Security

: Proficiency in firewall configuration, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and network security best practices

Infrastructure Setup

: Hands-on experience with firewall and router configuration, including enterprise-grade equipment

VPN Technologies

: Advanced knowledge of VPN setup, configuration, and troubleshooting

Network Architecture

: Expertise in WAN, LAN, WiFi, and WLAN design, implementation, and management

Zero Trust Security

: Experience implementing and managing Zero Trust network architectures

IPsec Configuration

: Proficiency in IPsec tunnel setup, configuration, and maintenance

IP Telephony

: Experience with VoIP systems, SIP protocols, and telephony infrastructure setup

Desktop and Cloud Services (Required)

Microsoft 365 Administration

: Proficiency in user configuration, license management, and service administration

Microsoft Intune

: Experience with device enrolment, policy deployment, and mobile device management

Desktop Management

: Ongoing support and management of Windows desktops, laptops, and user endpoints

Printer Management

: Installation, configuration, and troubleshooting of network and local printers

Microsoft Azure VPN

: Knowledge of Azure VPN Gateway, site-to-site connections, and hybrid cloud networking

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field 3-5 years of experience in network administration and desktop support Industry certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, Microsoft Azure certifications, or Cisco CCNA Experience with PowerShell scripting and automation tools Knowledge of ITIL framework and service management practices Familiarity with cloud platforms beyond Azure (AWS, Google Cloud)

Technical Environment

Windows Server environments Microsoft 365 and Azure cloud services Enterprise networking equipment (Cisco, Fortinet, SonicWall, or similar) VoIP/IP telephony systems Mobile device management platforms Network monitoring and management tools
