We are actively looking for a
New Business Consultant (Salesperson)
to join our team. Someone who wants a new challenge and to be part of our journey.
This is both a client facing and office/WFH based role. The primary function of the New Business Consultant at Life & Progress will be to secure commercial (B2B) sales working to achieve a given sales target, including direct sales, channel sales, cross-selling and up-selling. Most of our clients are SMEs, although we have a considerable number of large client organisations. Most of our client contacts are HR Managers and/or related people managers
The successful candidate will ideally have at least five years of B2B field-sales experience and will be able to show record(s) of achieving monthly/annual sales targets. Knowledge of our particular market sector and the range of services we provide (refer to our website for more details) would be an advantage, but is not essential, as training will be given. A key element of the New Business Consultant (Sales) role will be to gain a true understanding of our clients' needs and requirements. To then present a strategic proposal incorporating select services that will genuinely meet the clients' needs and requirements.
Full-time Position. Salary 23K-30K DOE plus uncapped bonus structure. OTE 40K - 50K pa. Plus, other company benefit(s) and allowance(s) post-probation. The probationary period is a standard six months.
Main duties will include but not be limited to:
Meeting face-to-face with clients (in person and virtually)
Demonstrating and presenting to HR Managers, Senior Managers, Decision Makers and/or other people managers
Securing new business (business-to-business sales)
Plan approaches, sales pitches and sales presentations
Prepare professional sales quotations
Able to present to senior decision makers
Able to present to small groups (primarily Human Resources teams)
Telephone sales and Field sales
Direct selling, cross selling and up-selling to both new and existing clients
Attending trade exhibitions, conferences, and meetings
Attending networking events, canvassing a crowd of prospective clients
Negotiating contracts and packages
Self-generate sales leads - Being a good opener* Work provided sales leads - Being a good closer* Fully understand and use a CRM system and maintain client records
Working towards monthly/annual sales target
Full UK driving licence required
Required competencies:
Good sales skills - prerequisite for this role
Good communication skills, articulate
Good interpersonal and listening skills
Able to grasp and maintain a good level of product knowledge
Good time management skills
Demonstrate a willingness to learn
A good grasp of numbers and the ability to write documents in a professional style
Good organisational skills and attention to detail, and accuracy

The ability to work independently as well as part of a proactive team
Tact, diplomacy and empathy (our services often support sensitive subject matter)

The ability to self-motivate, self-manage (remote working)
