Job Summary

John Dickinson Transport is a haulage company based near Darlington in North East England. We are one of the biggest heavy haulage companies in the north east and specialise in this area. We also move other types of freight using tautliner and flat trailers. We transport loads in the UK, hours of work include weekday tramping and drivers are expected to work weekends when required.
We are seeking a skilled and reliable Truck Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently to various locations. This role requires a strong commitment to safety, excellent driving skills, and the ability to handle various deliveries. The ideal candidate will have a passion for driving and a dedication to providing exceptional service.

Duties

Operate lorries in compliance with all traffic laws and regulations. Transport goods to designated locations in a timely manner. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance. Load and unload cargo, ensuring that all items are secured properly on the trailer. Maintain accurate delivery logs and records of mileage, fuel consumption, and other necessary documentation. Communicate effectively with the Traffic department and clients regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise during transport. Adhere to all company policies and procedures including anything related to safety, driving, and customer service.

Experience

Proven experience as a Driver. Valid commercial driving licence (CDL) with an excellent driving record. Experience with step frame work is advantageous but not mandatory. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations and best practices in commercial driving. Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: 45,000.00-50,000.00 per hour

Expected hours: 55 - 70 per week
