Role Summary



We're looking for a highly skilled New Product Introduction (NPI) Specialist / Engineer to drive and support the transition from product design to successful manufacturing. You'll be key in taking our innovative mental health products from engineering concept to robust production and market readiness. This impactful role demands a detail-oriented individual with a deep understanding of manufacturing and production processes and a knack for establishing efficient supply chains. Depending on experience, you may lead cross-functional initiatives or contribute as a technical specialist within the team.

Key Responsibilities



Manufacturing Readiness & Optimisation:



Partner with engineering to implement Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA), refining product designs for efficient and cost-effective production. Define and document clear manufacturing processes, including assembly instructions, test procedures, and quality control checkpoints. Oversee or support the procurement and validation of production tooling and fixtures. Lead or assist in the setup and optimisation of production lines, both in-house and with external partners, ensuring they're ready for scale. Execute pilot production runs to validate processes, identify issues, and refine manufacturing methods.

Supply Chain Setup & Management:



Identify, qualify, and onboard new suppliers for all necessary components and raw materials, focusing on quality, cost, and reliability. Collaborate with the Supply Chain Manager during supplier contract processes, ensuring NPI requirements are fully represented and embedded into agreements for new product supply Develop initial inventory strategies for new products, optimising stock levels for launch. Establish initial logistics and distribution channels, ensuring smooth inbound material flow and outbound product delivery. Help identify and mitigate supply chain risks for new product components.

Project Coordination:



Support or take ownership of the development and tracking of NPI project timelines and budgets, ensuring critical milestones are met. Coordinate activities across engineering, operations, quality, and external manufacturing partners to ensure a smooth product launch. Proactively identify and help resolve any technical or logistical issues that arise during the NPI process.

What You'll Bring

Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field. Proven experience in New Product Introduction (NPI). Strong practical understanding of manufacturing and production processes (e.g., plastic moulding, metal fabrication, electro-mechanical assembly). Experience with supplier management, procurement, and establishing supply chains. Excellent problem-solving skills and a keen eye for detail. Strong communication and collaboration abilities, working effectively with cross-functional teams. Familiarity with relevant product safety and quality standards. Leadership experience or willingness to develop leadership skills is advantageous but not essential.
