The Ware R&D pilot plant, co-located with GSK's Global Supply Chain manufacturing site, is a Centre of Excellence in the development and manufacturing of oral solid dose and inhaled drug products. The Ware pilot plant New Product Introduction team lead the planning, preparation, and execution oversight for all manufacturing campaigns within the pilot plant. The team is also accountable for the clinical trial manufacture and release of all oral solid dose and inhaled drug products supplied to clinical studies from GSK R&D and Global Supply Chain sites.
As a
New Product Introduction (NPI) Specialist
you will be accountable for a portfolio of products, developing and maintaining plans for product manufacture based on development programme requirements. You will lead a matrix team to define, prepare, and execute manufacturing campaigns. This role offers the opportunity to take on leadership roles in advancing operational excellence projects.
In this role you will:
Collaborate with teams from drug product development, supply chain management, Global Supply Chain, and pilot plant operations to strategize manufacturing plans that meet both clinical supply and drug product development needs.
Lead a matrix team in executing pilot plant manufacturing campaigns, showcasing exceptional project management skills. Harmonise manufacturing and supply plans with supply chain planners to meet study start-up timings and ensure uninterrupted supply.
Author batch records and establish yourself as a subject matter expert in GMP batch documentation.
Coordinate internal quality agreements and batch release for clinical drug product supplies from Global Supply Chain sites
Assist pilot plant operations teams in the operation of a compliant secondary pilot plant. Reacting promptly to manufacturing unplanned events and manage issue resolution.
Facilitate engineering and validation project activity within the pilot plant and connect manufacturing equipment capability and medicine development project requirements.
Serve as the liaison between drug product development teams and pilot plant operations, supporting pilot plant management to ensure the pilot plant remains agile, efficient, and adaptable to meet portfolio requirements.
Manage a diverse range of stakeholders including manufacturing operations, Quality Assurance, drug product development teams, analytical development, supply chain management, and the pilot plant leadership team.

Strong technical knowledge of pharmaceutical manufacturing
Excellent knowledge and experience of working to cGMP regulations

Track record of managing multiple projects and competing priorities
Preferred Qualifications & Skills:
