Job Description

Framlingham Surgery in Woodbridge are looking for a motivated and committed GP to help drive forward excellent patient care while maintaining a good work-life balance. We are particularly interested in a GP with an interest in teaching and training, as we host students from Cambridge, UEA and GP trainees, although this is not essential for the role.
This position is for 4-6 sessions per week based solely at Framlingham Medical Practice via the PCN Additional Roles Reimbursement Scheme (ARRS). The initial contract is 12 months with a view to a permanent role after the 12 month period.
Main duties of the job

  • Providing comprehensive medical services under the GMS contract.
  • Assessing and treating patients with a diverse range of medical conditions.
  • Participating in a signposting, clinical supervision and triage systems, ensuring efficient patient care.
  • Processing referrals, prescriptions, and administrative tasks.
  • Engaging in clinical meetings and contributing to practice development.
  • Supporting the training and development of colleagues, GP trainees and students.
  • Participate in local and national healthcare initiatives to enhance patient care.
  • Maintain up-to-date medical records using SystmOne.
  • Occasional home or care home visits.
  • No extended hours.
About us
Framlingham Medical Practice is a well established dispensing general practice with just under 10,000 patients. We are a forward thinking practice continually exploring new areas to develop and benefit our patients. The practice clinical team consists of 3 GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, a clinical pharmacist, 1 paramedics, an advanced nurse practitioner, 3 practice nurses, 2 healthcare assistants and a Phlebotomist. Our clinical team is supported by experienced dispensary, administration and reception teams.
Research:Framlingham Medical Practice during the beginning of 2024 was approved as a research practice. The first research projects are now underway.
Training Practice:University students - We are proud of our association with the University of Cambridge and the University of East Anglia. The practice takes 2 final year student cohorts from both universities. The practice is in the final stages of applying to become a GP Training Practice to Approved GP Training practice.

  • MRCGP qualification (or equivalent).
