Job Advert Job Title: NFU Graduate (Agricultural Policy)
Salary:
\xc2\xa325,500 per annum \xc2\xa31,000 Graduate Welcome Payment Up to \xc2\xa32,000 to assist with relocation costs between placements.
Location:
HQ Stoneleigh, Warwickshire with agile working. Year 2 placements will take place in London and Regional Offices or Brussels.
Working Hours:
35 hours per week

It\xe2\x80\x99s exciting, complex work, covering every area of farming and dealing with a range of stakeholders, from government ministers, civil servants and the media, to local NFU branches. The sheer variety of our work means you can be involved in a wide range of projects from initial research to policy delivery. Our collaborative approach means you\xe2\x80\x99ll find plenty of opportunities to build your knowledge \xe2\x80\x93 it\xe2\x80\x99s up to you to take them.
In year 1 you will be based at our HQ Stoneleigh, Warwickshire, working on projects with teams across our Policy Directorate. In year 2 you will spend time with the External Affairs team in London and have the chance to work with regional teams or our colleagues in Brussels.
What you\xe2\x80\x99ll bring:

You will have achieved, or be predicted to achieve, at least a 2:1 degree or above (or equivalent qualification).
Our staff have diverse backgrounds, and no specific degree stands out as being essential for the role. You will learn a lot on the job, so we do not expect you to have a detailed knowledge of the agricultural sector or policy advocacy; however, we are looking for people who are informed in food production, trade and markets, business and public/ regulatory affairs. You\xe2\x80\x99ll enjoy solving complex problems, and working to achieve the best outcomes for our members who are at the heart of what we do. You will also need to be strategically minded, great at building strong relationships at all levels and be able to communicate your views effectively.
You will be required to work in various locations throughout the UK, so a flexible approach to location is essential. Successful candidates will need their own transport, as public transport is not frequently available to the beautiful NFU Headquarters based in Stoneleigh Park, Warwickshire.
