Welford House is a five bedded residential home, housing children (up to the age of 18 years), whose emotional and behavioural difficulties are such that they are unable to live within their own or a substitute family setting; and who require an environment in which they can come to terms with their past, in order that they may have a bright future.
We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic and experienced person to join our staff team of Night Care Supervisors on a 6 month maternity cover.
Assisting day staff in settling children at bedtime and waking them for school.
Dealing with children who wake in the night, who may be frightened or whose behaviour may be challenging and helping them to settle.
Maintaining accurate notes in the home logs and writing incident reports as required
Undertaking a range of light duties such as setting table, emptying dishwasher, washing tea towels.
You will work alongside a sleep-in member of the team sharing responsibility.
Night Wake Supervisors work on a rota basis, with 2 nights on duty 22:00-08:00 and 4 nights off (including weekends and Bank Holidays).
Please note that annual pay will be pro-rata, the hourly rate is 12.69- 12.88 and on top of this enhancements are paid for unsocial hours, Sundays and Bank holidays. There are also opportunities to pick up additional shifts if you want to earn more.
Although previous experience within a similar setting and qualifications would be beneficial, it is not essential as we provide all the training required to help our employees have the best start in their career. If you demonstrate a willingness to learn we will give you the tools you need to succeed.

You are enthusiastic, patient and flexible amongst other things. You find it easy to establish and build positive relationships with Young People.
You are a confident communicator who finds it easy to relate to colleagues and young people.
You are able to maintain accurate records and solve problems, using good verbal or written reasoning.
You are confident working through the night taking responsibility for the security of the building and the care of our young people.
You are able to engage with young people who may struggle with their emotions and recovery from traumatic experiences.
You are emotionally intelligent, resilient and can put the needs of a young person first
