Priory Hospital Newburyis looking to recruit a Deputy Ward Manager to join the team for their Acute ward.This is afull time 37.5 hours role.



Priory Hospital Newbury, located Berkshire, is a level 2 rehabilitation service which supports male adults with mental health needs, who are working towards a life back in the community. We also provide an acute service, for local male and female patients who are in crisis and require a short admission for support.


We are well-placed to accept patients who need higher levels of care and intensive therapeutic support, as well as those stepping down in acuity.

What you'll be doing





You will be part of a compassionate team who are committed to our patients wellbeing. We take a personalised approach, using proven therapies to help people move forward with confidence and build a healthier, more fulfilling future. You will play a key part in their recovery, assisting qualified staff with the assessment and implementation of individual patient care plans, undertaking routine tasks and activities as directed or delegated to facilitate wellbeing, dignity and treatment of patients

Works as Senior Nurse in a Ward or equivalent area ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment for patients, their families and visitors. Apply relevant policies and statutory requirements within the ward and hospital framework of governance and communicates requirements to the wider team. Ensures that risk is assessed and managed across the immediate and wider working environment and that statutory requirements are met. Respects and applies the requirements of diversity and inclusion, promoting and role modelling these across the team.

What you'll bring to the role

The role requires active registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, meeting the requirements of revalidation, along with experience as a trained assessor or supervisor. Clinical supervision experience is essential, with training in this area considered desirable. Candidates should demonstrate evidence of continued professional development, with a clear intent to maintain and expand both clinical expertise and leadership skills. Strong computer literacy is also required. In terms of experience, applicants should have at least 18 months to two years of post-registration practice and demonstrable expertise within a clinical specialty.
