The Role

BRC Logistics is looking for an experienced

Night Operations Manager

to run our overnight operation, managing drivers across multiple contracts and ensuring KPIs, compliance, and service levels are hit every shift. You'll be a hands-on leader who can keep a calm head under pressure, drive performance, and keep standards high.

This is a Milton Keynes-based role, with

one shift per week worked in Nottingham

(travel expenses covered).

What You'll Be Doing

Lead and manage a night shift team of

7-10 drivers

(growing operation) Oversee overnight delivery operations across

3 contracts covering 5 cities

(most starting/ending in Milton Keynes) Monitor live activity and performance to ensure

targets and KPIs are achieved nightly

Ensure drivers follow all protocols, including:

Van checks

/ defect reporting Correct

loading and equipment handling

Adherence to SOPs and contract requirements Manage

rotas

, holiday requests, absences, and shift cover Support recruitment activity and onboarding for new starters Manage conduct/performance issues, including

disciplinary processes

when required Handle client communications overnight through established channels, then

handover to senior management each morning

Produce

daily reports

with clear facts/figures to drive control and improvement
What We're Looking For (Must-Haves)

Proven experience managing teams within

transport / logistics operations

(ideally multi-site or multi-contract) Strong KPI focus and the ability to drive standards consistently Confident people management (rotas, absence, performance, disciplinaries) Organised, reliable, and comfortable working nights on a rota basis Full UK driving licence (route cover only if needed due to sickness/operational requirement, or by choice) Comfortable using multiple systems (tracking, comms platforms, reporting tools)
