As a Night Porter at our five-star hotel, you are an essential part of the overnight guest experience, providing discreet, attentive, and proactive support across the hotel. You ensure that the property remains pristine, secure, and welcoming throughout the night. Whether assisting guests with luggage, maintaining public areas, or supporting night operations, you embody calm professionalism, attention to detail, and a strong sense of service that reflects the standards of luxury hospitality.
Key Responsibilities
Guest Service Excellence
Offer a courteous and professional welcome to guests arriving or departing during the night.
Assist with luggage handling, guest requests, and transport arrangements with discretion and efficiency.
Respond promptly and politely to in-room requests or deliveries, ensuring minimal disruption to guests.
Provide a visible and reassuring presence in public areas, maintaining a calm and helpful demeanor at all times.
Support the Front Office team in ensuring seamless and personalized guest service overnight.
Operational Duties
Conduct regular floor walks and security checks, reporting any safety concerns, maintenance issues, or unusual activity.
Prepare public areas for the following day, ensuring cleanliness, tidiness, and readiness in line with brand standards.
Assist with setting up or breaking down function spaces for early morning events or late-night requests.
Support the Night Manager and Assistant Night Manager with room service delivery, guest amenities, or emergency procedures.
Maintain the appearance and readiness of the lobby, entrances, lifts, and guest corridors.
Teamwork Communication
Work collaboratively with the night team, including front desk, housekeeping, and security, to ensure a smooth and efficient overnight operation.
Attend and contribute to nightly briefings and handovers, sharing important guest or operational updates.
Communicate any guest feedback, incidents, or special requests to relevant departments for follow-up.
Safety Compliance
Assist in implementing the hotel's fire, health, and safety protocols, including evacuations if necessary.
Monitor guest and staff safety, ensuring a secure environment throughout the hotel.
Maintain knowledge of emergency procedures and respond calmly and appropriately in all situations.
Report any maintenance faults or safety hazards immediately and ensure they are followed up.
General Responsibilities
Maintain personal grooming and uniform standards in accordance with hotel policies.
Attend training sessions, team meetings, and performance reviews as required.
Support with overnight deliveries, refuse management, and restocking as necessary.
Undertake any reasonable duties assigned by the Night Manager or hotel leadership.
