We are seeking a dedicated individual to join our team as Night Porter.

About the Role



This is an essential, sole worker role within our business working through the night to look after the welfare of our overnight guests and to ensure that our venues are turned round between weddings and events to make sure that the venue is clean, presentable and re set for the next event.

Duties include but not limited to:

To be the responsible person between 11:59pm and 7:59am, maintaining all operational needs throughout the night whilst safeguarding the security of the venue and all its occupants, with a full awareness of health and safety procedures. To clean and set up the venue to basic standards of hygiene and cleanliness. Ensuring that function rooms are cleaned and prepared for the following function which involves moving and lifting furniture and equipment. Ensuring all public areas (internal and external) are clear of rubbish, debris and cigarette ends to provide a high guest experience. To respond to guest issues as needed and appropriate. To control access to the building and other areas from 11:59pm and 7:59am on event days (with overnight accommodation). To patrol all areas of the venue on foot to guard against theft, vandalism and fire. Locking and unlocking all the main access doors to the building. Count, record and bag up used laundry. Recording and reporting breakdowns and maintenance issues. Reacting to incidents and emergencies and recording in detail. To be aware of fire and health and safety policy and procedures and ensure safe evacuation of the venue in the event of a fire, liaising with emergency services where required. To be a qualified First Aider and to administer first aid in the event of a emergency. First Aid course will be arranged for any employee to attend but will be mandatory to attend but is during regular office hours so adjustment to your working pattern to attend would be made.

Previous Experience



Experience in a similar role is not essential as full training will be given but previous guest facing experience and a good standard of both written and spoken English is must. Previous experience in a physically demanding role is preferred as the role involves physical tasks such as lifting and carrying furniture, use of cleaning equipment and prolonged periods of standing.

Working Hours



This role is being offered on a flexible zero hours contract basis, but during peak Wedding Season (Apr-Sept) you can expect to be working 3-5 shifts on average per week, during the quieter months it will be less. Shifts will be 11:30pm - 7:30-8am finish. The successful candidate must be an individual who's flexible and available to work across a mix of weekdays and weekends, flexibility is paramount for this role.
Own transport essential due to rural location.
