The Role of the Night Porter:
The role includes a variety of responsibilities including checking in late arrivals and checking out early departures, taking reservation enquiries over the phone, and passing messages to relevant departments, completing corporate event set ups, taking room service orders, preparing food and drinks, and delivering it to the guests. As a Night Porter, your responsibility would be to ensure all guest needs are anticipated, and requests followed up.
Working at night, you would also be responsible for the safety of the hotel, so your duties would include completing security walks, and generally ensuring the safety of the hotel and its guests. You will also provide support to the housekeeping team, ensuring public area cleanliness is maintained.
Whilst previous hotel experience is not essential it is advantageous.
The ideal Night Porter candidate must:
Be able and willing to work nights - shifts are from 10pm until 8am over 4 nights per week (including weekends on a rota)
Have excellent personal presentation, interpersonal skills, and problem solving skills
Have excellent communication skills
Be responsible and trustworthy
