Job Description

To oversee and coordinate the nightshift despatch operations, ensuring that all bakery products are picked, packed, loaded, and dispatched accurately and on time to meet customer expectations. Responsible for managing a team of operatives, maintaining product quality, and upholding health & safety standards.

Key Responsibilities

Supervise all nightshift despatch activities, ensuring timely and accurate order preparation and delivery schedules are met.

o Manage, motivate, and support the despatch team to achieve operational targets.

o Oversee the loading and routing of delivery vehicles.

o Ensure accurate paperwork, including delivery notes and dispatch sheets, are completed.

o Conduct nightly stock checks and reconcile discrepancies.

o Monitor product quality and compliance with food safety standards.

o Liaise with the bakery production team to ensure orders are fulfilled correctly.

o Ensure a clean, safe working environment in accordance with health & safety and hygiene regulations.

o Carry out staff briefings and handovers with day shift as required.

o Report any issues or delays to the Factory Manager promptly.

Skills & Experience Required

Previous supervisory experience in a fast-paced food manufacturing or distribution environment (bakery experience desirable).

o Understanding of despatch operations, order fulfilment.

o Knowledge of food hygiene and health & safety standards.

o Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.

o Ability to lead and motivate a team working night shifts.

o Good communication and problem-solving skills.

o Flexibility to work weekends and adapt to changing workloads.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: From 14.50 per hour
