About the role
Reporting to the Operations Manager you will lead all aspects of site activities on the night shift to ensure safe, continuous, and efficient running of site operations. This role is a hands-on management role, whereby the successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of leading operations on a COMAH site, to contribute to delivery of Safety Performance and EBITA budgeted expectations
ResponsibilitiesImmediate responsibility out of normal office hours for the safe and efficient operation of the depot.
Lead the Night Shift Operations team to ensure all site activities are undertaken safely, efficiently and cost effectively
Plan and prioritise the day-to-day operations workload for the operations Team
Management of HR-related aspects such as holidays, sickness, return-to-work interviews, and overtime.
Is a working manager position therefore will be required to complete work during the shift as necessary.
Process monitoring and control including completion of shift handovers including handover log, plant start-up and shutdown.
Receipt and dispatch of bulk chemicals.
Act as Site Incident Controller in the event of an on-site or off-site chemical incident until Site Management are in attendance.
Assist Site Managers with process fault finding and cause analysis.
Permit to Work issue and control.
Support site reporting and investigations into Accidents, Incidents, Miss-Loads and Near Misses
Support with the production of SOP's, site procedures for operational processes
Undertake any reasonable tasks or duties assigned by the appropriate line managers from time to time, related to the effective and efficient performance of the job, and providing they are within the post holders skills and ability.
Health & Safety: Comply and promote all statutory and company safety policies and instigate work practices, which results in a safe and healthy workplace.
Compliance: Ensure compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Key Interfaces: Hub Manager, Operations Manager, Depot Staff.
SkillsChemical industry background on a COMAH facility - Preferred
Experience in working in a Safety Driven environment - Essential
Proven experience in a supervisory role, developing a motivated, engaged, and high performing team Experience in liquid process engineering in a manufacturing environment - Preferred
Working knowledge of key regulations such as Health and Safety at Work Act, COMAH
